Beginners Notes
Most accidents happen to Skate Buds™ beginners within the first 30 minutes of use, so use extra caution while learning how to use Skate Buds™! Be prepared for injuries, always wear protection equipment while operating Skate Buds™ including a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads and wrist guards. Avoid slopes and uneven surfaces. Skate Buds™ operate similiar to inline skates, using a progessing motion. All skaters should have some prior experience with inline or roller skates and have a good sense of balance. Never operate Skate Buds™ with skates side-by-side or you will fall, always keep one foot in front of the other. Skate Buds™ are not meant for aggressive skating or high speed. Always avoid steep slopes, uneven ground and wet or loose surfaces.

First, find an adult or rail to support you while you PLACE ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE OTHER. Tense your legs, slowly lift your toes and balance on your heels. NEVER PLACE YOUR FEET SIDE BY SIDE WHEN HEEL SKATING! YOU WILL FALL! If you start to loose your balance, simply drop back your toes back to the ground. Pull yourself along until you are comfortable and can balance on your own.
|

Once you are sure you have found your balance and are sure you can support yourself without assistance, you can try heel skating. Take a step forward, tighten your legs and step forward with your other shoe, firmly planting your front wheel with your toes up. Kick off with your back shoe, bringing your feet very close together, one in front of the other (NEVER SIDE BY SIDE). |
Stopping
To stop, simply drop your toes to the ground.
